Roll Cage with original Seat belts

    Hi,
I found a great report of an restauration at the December 2016 Classic Ford Magazine. Lewis Powell shows his great and beautyfull white 1600 Sport Escort MK2. What i saw, he is using a Safety Devices 6 Point Roll Cage AND thats my point, the original Seat belts.
He wrote me at Facebook:The bottom of the seat belt i.e. The reel is bolted through the bottom of the cage where a normal seat belt eye would go. The top is behind the cage on the B pillar.
Does anybody the same? Where the hell did he positioned the big reel? I ask for some pictures, but I think he´s too busy...
I need some good pictures of this bottom area!
My Idea was to put the reel behind the rear door trim panel. Like new cars did.
    Some suggestions?
My Chassis is a MK2 2-door. My Roll cage is not from safety devices. (at the moment...)
Attached the actual situation. There is not space enough to put the reel in!

The cage I´ve fitted is a no name one. There are no holes in this cage. I try to take a better picture!

Re: Roll Cage with original Seat belts

I had to do something similar to fit standard inertia reel belts back in, again with a SD 6 point bolt in cage.

My cage didn't have tabs for mounting the belt on, so I used the brackets that came with a new set of Securon belts to space them away from the cage upright. This was using the standard threaded hole, which as your image also shows, should be forward enough from the cage that you can re-use it:

    That‘s the actual Situation
The cage needs to go backwards and another angle at the top!
Next week i will go to a friend who build roll cages!
