Mk2 Escort, RS Struts 2" lowered springs, Double width Kit, 2nd hand anti-rollbar
My issue is, near side strut spring base is hitting strut supports, see pictures

Is there any chance that I may have the incorrect anti rollbar, hence pulling the suspension forward. This photo shows standard anti rollbar mount.

Also, while on the subject of anti rollbar mounts / double width mounts, can anybody explain the variation in the position of, mounting bolts in the following photo.
From left to right, first on is what I had fitted to the car, second one is another mounting which the supplier sent two of the same side. Third one is the standard mounting.

The car was dismantled over a year ago, and I fully accept that I may be making a stupid mistake somewhere, I would be very grateful for any ideas/help.
Thanks

Re: Help! Am I being thick?!
We need to identify what your anti roll bar is, eg, Twin Cam etc. TC type anti roll bars are shorter than std ones so they need the corresponding type brackets to suit or the struts are pulled too far forward. Some Escorts are the other way and have the wheels too far back. The best way is to get the car on level ground and get a castor gauge on the front struts.
I have Know some Escorts with the correct castor for the front spring to foul and the inner wing turret when fitted with large diameter springs.

Re: Help! Am I being thick?!
Thanks for your reply, Anti roll bar was purchased from Escort-tec as a std MK2 anti roll bar,
Also is there anyway of measuring Castor angle without expensive equipment? thanks

Re: Help! Am I being thick?!
you'll find that as the weight goes on that the angle of the strut will change and the spring cup will move backwards as it gets closer to the top mounts, but still worth checking what castor you have. as far as angle finding its pretty easy to get a rough idea, use a plumb line and pythagoras to get the angle.
