What map sensor in YB cosworth?

    Afternoon all,

I recently picked up a cosworth engine for my mk2 RS2000.

Engine comes with almost everything I need however I need a fuel pressure regulator and also a map sensor. The engine is a 205 block with 4x4 head, t34 turbo 0.48 exhaust housing and has dark green injectors fitted at present. Should I buy a 3bar map sensor or standard 2bar sensor? I am only looking for around 250bhp as a first fit. Also I take it I am better trying to buy a second hand Marelli one?

Same goes for the fuel pressure regulator, better buying genuine second hand one?

    Cheers
    Neil

The map sensor has to work with the chip so I’d guess go 3 bar with green injectors but
If it’s 2 bar map chip then u need 2 bar sensor they are not compatible interchangeable
As for regulator standard would b fine as long as diaphragm not split cos then sucks extra petrol into manifold

    Thanks for the advice,

Think I'll contact Gary Bell at RSclassics360, see what he is in stock.

Unless you have any other recommendations where to get the parts I need?
    Cheers

I don't think the original regulator is available any more. Only options are therefore second hand or convert it to an aftermarket.

Think you can still pick them up second hand. Pay a bit more for one than an aftermarket one.

Yep, you'll want to get hold of a gauge to make sure that it holds pressure correctly once you get the engine up and running. From memory, with greens and the other bits and bobs you've got, my Motorsports Development setup guide
(which came with my chip) recommended that it should be just over 3Bar at idle.
