    Camshaft Questions

Having a few Questions From the boys in the Know

Got a Kent Kit RL31 swapped for a RL21 , Will i still need to Dial it ?

The spray bar seems to have been my last problem , Can you make the spray holes bigger ? is it Beneficial ?

The Ball studs , Look exactly the same , but are tight going into the head - 1 turn with the finger and they tighten up ?
The ball studs again , can only get a full nut on the thread , then they go tight

I have not put a spanner near any bolt or nuts , just fingers for now

yes you need to dial it in, ball studs, re use the old ones they dont wear anyway.

burtons do spray bars with bigger hols i think you could drill them out a bit, although ive never used anything other than a standard spray bar

Would you need to have a higher capacity oil pump to compensate for the larger holes in the spray bar?

I see no reason what so ever to go enlarging the holes in the std spray bar, only if you want to reduce your oil pressure. Why would you want to covert your engine into a overhead sump. Anyone that's primed the oil system with a drill on the oil pump will know just how much oil comes out of a std spray bar.

It sounds like the thread pitch is n't quite right with your ball studs, possibly a culprit from the Far East. As Graham says just use the std ones that Henry Ford fitted.

    Re: Camshaft Questions

I always changed the oil , but the spray bar must have clogged on 1 of the holes
I suppose im just thinking "what if " again

Also the Double Valve Springs , are they needed ? seems a bit extreme ...
The RL21 did not have them fitted

... I phoned Kent Cams about the ball studs
The guy i spoke to assured me they would be fine to turn in , and were the same thread

    Im not so sure
