the problem is caused by the car being lowered at the front. the tyres catch at the moment with 185/60/13 tyres on.

£58 is good (not the cheapest though ) but I'm hoping to get 2 for around £50. there's some on ebay but the sellers either haven't replied or won't post them despite it costing less than a tenner

camskill have some 175/60s for 28quid. probably crap but will do the job i guess

Theres really no point in buying cheap shite tyres though, thats one thing i realised about a year ago when i put some decent yokos on my gti the confidence they give you is unreal (in the rain is a lot different ) so they end up making the car a lot safer should you get up shit creek ever and need the tyres to grip
