    Sytec cosworth fuel pump

I'm after a replacement pump for my Mk2 escort cosworth it's only a stage one, but has a 044 fitted which is quite noisy but more worryingly keeps making a loud intermittent clicking/cracking noise (also relay gets quite warm )
It's fed by a 16mm hose straight from a Rallyoyl custom made tank with inbuilt swirl pot.
Ive been thinking of buying one of the sytec pumps for MLR and there only £65
Heard all the horror stories on Chinese 044 copies and there's loads on eBay for £25 so what's the verdict on the Sytec ones ? My thinking is if there good enough for MLR to sell they must be good any advice welcome
    cheers Paul

Paul if is noisey it's because it sucking air , these are gravity feed pumps and should really be under the car the same as a cossy , joe @ gsmotosport showed me by lifting my pump up in the rear of my car ,and it went noisey

Thanks for replys , when I say noisy it not the buzz of the pump it's the crack/click it does every know and then
The pump is just under the height of the tank floor and the feed pipe runs downhill to the pump also the tank has a purpose built swirl pot that drops thru a hole in the tank stand with plenty of full in the tank too ,

Potentially sucked a bit of fabrication / weld debris through the pump? - hurts them every time.

A proper FI filter is maybe a bit 'belt and braces' - I think dusty sized debris passes through fine, you need to stop grit sized debris for which a regular paper type filter should be ok - that's what i've used with mine anyway.

The same thing happened to me on a Rally with an Escort Cosworth with a single Bosch pump, the thing seized up leaving the car stranded. We later dissected the pump to find a bit of crap jammed between the rotor and casing. I always used a pre filter after that.

    Always use a pre filter!!

You need a pre filter, a filter after the pump is optional.
