MK1 escor LH to RH drive question

    Hi All.

As i am now located in Central Germany when i finally find a suitable project vehicle it will most likely be a left hooker. Something in me cant have that. Escorts need to be RHD.

I have dash and clocks etc but wonder what else would be needed to convert it to RHD?

Steering rack from a RHD car?
    Pedal box is universal?
Wiper arms...motors e.t.c probably need some work
    Any other handed items?

Thanks chaps. I am collecting parts and overhauling everything whilst hunting for a car...Its painful times, more so with the Mrs telling me to be patient!!!

Why change when there were so many Works Escorts in Lhd, as used by Mikkola, Valdergard, Makkinen and Vatanan just to name a few. Your funds might better used for other modifications on your car. After all the old Escorts are a money pit.

    Yup. All got.

As for why. I am an Essex boy regardless of current address and Escort must be RHD for me. I know works cars where LHD but it wont ever be a works car...If my wife has her way it wont ever be any car but hey, thats another battle.

we are all with you on that.

if you ever bring it back to the UK i suspect a RHD will be worth more as well.
