Mine was from burton power but I think they all come from the same source. I have one on my anglia and mk1 escort. On the escort I blew the seal out. Hindsight I think it was a wrongly sized master cylinder. The anglia one has been perfect.

I think 0.625 now but I can’t check as I am away working but can confirm at the weekend.

Standard MGB one works perfectly fine with mine, no idea of the size though

Retro Ford recommend 0.625 with their slave cylinder kit.

Re: Hydraulic clutch kits for Type 9 box

Hi all, I’ve just fitted one of these kits to my mk2 esco with type 9 alongside a new helix fast road clutch kit. I do however have a problem which is that my pedal is getting massive resistance when pressed. The pedal stops dead after 2/3 inches as if the bearing is hitting a wall. On bleeding the pedal is fine. It looks like the slave cylinder is working ok, I’ve spoken with motorsport tools but to no avail. I have a 0.70 master cylinder, could it be this? Should I use a 0.625? My pedal is also very high when fitted but thought this could be adjusted on bleeding and on the thread?? I really ha e no idea.....anyone have any ideas or experienced this?....

the .7 cylinder will give you short travel and a heavier pedal

Ok great thanks, so do you think a 0.60 or 0.625 may solve my problem?

Re: Hydraulic clutch kits for Type 9 box

You need to try a 0.625 cylinder to reduce the volume of fluid to the slave cylinder/release bearing. Don't force the pedal because you'll push the clutch plate diaphragm over centre and do damage and there's also the chance of the cylinder pushing it's self out.

Even with the smaller master cylinder you might have to fit an adjustable clutch stop to the pedal to stop it travelling too far.

Thats exactly what i did with the wrong master cylinder. Just checked the anglia and defo 0.625 as supplied by Milton and works fine. I have put a 0.625 on the escort but never tested it yet, I have no reason to think it won't work now.

I may get to bleed it this weekend. I can confirm what size i originally used shortly if its is worth it (just need to find it) it is somewhere safe.

I found the old cylinder and it was a 0.750, why i will never know and no wonder it pushed the release bearing right out
