Hello!
Would like to upgrade my car with a duratec can these at all take turbocharging or will the block blow to pieces? I understand that pistons and conrods will have to be changed but will the block hold about 300hp?

You don't need a blower to hit 300bhp (money permitting).
I believe there are quite a few n/a duratec's around at this figure, which I'm sure would have a standard block.
Look at the mazda 3 mps, from a post on here the other week it would seem its a turbo'd duratec from the mazda factory and 285bhp iirc so very close to your target
Duratec is turbo'd quite often. Rally cros fiestas , focus's, wrc focus mazda MPS.

started to look at the costs of building a turbo duratec and decided not to do it. But then i saw in an issue of fast ford, a turbo duratec mondeo that made 245hp on standard internals. I have also read in fast ford about duratec tuning when they had asked some tuners about the duratec and they said that the pistons, con rods and even the crank had to be replaced if going over 220bhp. Anyone here who has made a turbo duratec on a budget? Donīt want to spend loads of money on the engine but i really want to replace the pinto turbo in my escort with a duratec turbo. Iīm aiming for 300hp if this is possible on a budget??

The main issue with NA is that to get the power you need to rev the engine and anything over 7250rpm on stock roads is asking for trouble, hence the recommended upgrades....
With FI you dont need to rev so high to get the power, so the stock internals are ok.
Jamsport run a supercharged duratec in an ST150 on stock internals with 12psi of boost and its making around 320bhp and has run for 14000miles now. Though they recommend running forged pistons at this level just for safety.
As long as you keep boost sensible and avoid detonation at all times the stock internals will be ok.
FWIW I have upgraded to forged pistons and rods from the states (both cost less than just a set of pistons over here) just for piece of mind and I intend to run around 1bar of boost for about 350bhp....but I am spercharging, not turboing.

the mazda duratecs are far better than the version ford use, they have steel cranks etc much much stronger.. can get brand new complete motors for not allot of dollar.
I thought only the 2009 MX5 had a steel crank, all the others are like the Ford ones, which are pretty good to be honest. I know of a few 2.0's running up to 9K and I used to regularly run my 2.3 up to 8200

Best bet is to have a look at Mazda3 forums.. as i see they are now pushing towards 600whp in the 2.3
