Mk 2 Wheels
Hi guys,
Wondering peeps opinion on these alley cats? I got them as a spare set with the car, currently sitting in the shed with no tyres. I think the insert would be better black but in two minds to sell them as prefer minilites.

Re: Mk 2 Wheels
Alley cats look great
Minilites look great
Its good to be a little different. Minilites are quite popular, so the Alley cats get the bigger thumbs up from me.

Thanks fellas, was wondering about 15" wheels as sits super low! Gearbox bush and exhaust catching on speed bumps but the 13s suit it well. Big lowering blocks fitted at the back, maybe have to fit smaller ones, not sure best thing to do. Does everyone else have the same trouble?

Ideally; you should go with what YOU prefer; but both wheel sets look the business on an escort.....IMHO.

Re: Mk 2 Wheels
Thanks for your advice. Think I will be sticking with the 13s. Currently on the black 7J steel wheels below, tyres are 175/50/13 bit too low a side wall. And have the Alley cats as spare. One in the boot has 185/60/13 tyre fitted. Is this the best size? Took a measurement of the rim. Is this a 8J? The 185/60 should suit both okay or what would you recommend? Steel rims suit it quite well!

Re: Mk 2 Wheels
That looks like an 8J rim to me. Measuring 9" overall and then subtract a bit for the thickness of both rims makes 8J.
I've always likes 185/60 on a Mk2. I think it gives a nice compromise between profile and retro looks, but that's just my personal choice.
