    Mk1 escort 15” tub fitting

    So at the stage where I am fitting the tubs to the car, they are standard round tubs if I am not slamming the car do I just best fit to the inner quarter panel stiffener to take minimum material I have centred my template to the axle centreline and I have turrets to fit if I fit the tubs an inch higher it seems a lot of material to remove from the stiffener. Some photos show the stiffener completely cut away others have trimmed the stiffener then fitted the tubs car will be fitted with the long coiled gets rather than the short for lowered vehicles

    You must mean this bit!
    Mines about 3/4" at the top and about an inch the rest of the way down

    Dave when you fitted the turrets was there enough material at the top to weld to the inner stiffener and did you set the height of the turret to 5” from the top of the tub? Thanks

    Hi.
    I made my own tubs which are bigger than bought ones! Tops of my turrets are only 2 1/2" from the top of the tubs.
    I went by the gartrac drawings for the turret placement.
    Google gartrac turret height and you should find it.
