    600 or 250?

now this might sound stupid but should i get a 250 or a 600?

i haven't ridden a bike since my RD350 about 6 years ago and to be honest they scare me a bit cos i've had quite a few crashes

..but i might end up needing one for getting to work as we are losing parking spaces which will mean i have to park my escort on the streets nearby ...fuck that!

I always liked two strokes and have never ridden a four stroke. I used to like RGV's, TZR's, KR1's, RD's etc . Will a 600 be quite a step up from one of these and will the maintenance be more or less on a four stroke? I'm thinking of spending less than £2500 and obviously want something reliable for that

and finally what should i get. Like sports bikes. Hate anything with chrome on it

    Re: 600 or 250?

i've got an 89 FZR250R and i use it for commuting across town, its quite good for that, nice and light, really quick and nimble, not too tall so its easy for standing on the ground at the lights (im not real tall).

my mate had a 1998 CBR600F, it was a much nicer bike to ride, heaps more torque and much nicer out in the twistys, it holds the road alot better, is more predictable and very easy to corner quick and safely. however for around town stuff the CBR wouldn't be as easy to ride as its quite big, and hard to do real sharp low speed turns and car park stuff.

    hope that helps

How about a Kawasaki ER6 ??? Should be able to pick a decent one up for about £2500. Good strong 650 twin that go on for ever with about 65 mpg if you tickle it to work and back and you can also give it a good twist and your flying

    600 all day mate...

get yaself a little 250 if u wanna wind it up and screw the arse off it all day, but a 600 will be well more relaxed and when u fancy it shake off a 250 no bother

I bought this last week, it's a Gs550, i would think it would be suitable for what you need although i've just got it for the odd ride out with mates.

I need to clean carbs, fit a new battery and get an Mot (can't find anything wrong with it), paid £575 for it from a local classic bike dealer, it was advertised for £850.

Cheers people. Nice bike but a bit old school for me. Always a bit warey of buying bikes. Had some real shitters in the past. I'll probably go for a 600. What's an ER6? Never heard of one of them
