I want to change the oil of a Type E gearbox whilst it being on the car (Mk2 Escort).
What do you use for this job?
Tried a Draper oil suction thingy but it sucks ...
Maybe an oil fuelpump?

take the prop off and jack up the front of the car extremely high????
I put a drain plug in my type nine while in situ. Not sure if a type E has a similar spot on bottom of case to tap ?

I meant old fuelpump not oil fuelpump ...
Jacking up the front could be a solution.
Drain plug is maybe a solution for the future, want to make sure that no debris from tapping the hole ends up in the gearbox.
Any pictures of where to drill and tap on box?

I dont imagine any typical fuel pump handling oil at all.
Can you get a tube down into the trans ? Some of the large vacuum oil/fluid extractors would be an option if you can.
Otherwise drilling and tapping a hole in the bottom of the trans should be pretty easy and mostly risk free. Say for a NPT or BSPT type plug.

I used a vaacum operated oil drainer. Like these we use on olds Smart being the oil pan without any hole to drain engine oil
Use grease on tap to trap swarf
