Re: Fix Dash top cracks
I’m currently repairing my Mk1 dash top with flexible bumper filler, then going to flock it. If your intention is to keep the original texture, you can replicate the pattern into the filler, it takes a little practice.

I fixed a cracked BM E30 dash with araldite, filled the crack, sanded flat then painted with vinyl black paint, you couldn’t even see it.

Yeah no probs, I just used that as it adds a bit of strength and stops the crack spreading. When I sanded it it did it with coarse emery in one direction to give it a bit of texture then painted with a coarse hair model brush to give it some squiggly brush strokes in the paint, it was honestly close to invisible

Re: Fix Dash top cracks
My flex filler is dark grey drying to a lighter shade. I remember in my garage days our dash repairer would us a filler and have different stencils to replicate the pattern, then when dried he would use an airbrush and paint with the right colour.
There must be some of these guys around still, if I remember he was part of a franchise.
