wow! guess it will make the first drive all that sweeter!
finally got the cage front feet welded
tied into the sill stand tube
started on repairing my other door inner repair first
builds going slow at the moment only doing the little bits while i sort the big stuff axle case for lining up the watts link ,
engine dry sump so i can mount the engine and build the chassi mounts first time in the right place and get my gearbox mount done
Great job...will be making new tubs for mine..thanks for sharing,,,cheers mark
the work is just incredible very talented
Tidy work there mate
thanks Guys
done a little more on the door
and bits have started to arrive to move it along and im about to order more bits hopefully
so i made a door bottom outer that wasnt quite long enough but all i could manage to fold without a folder
it came out roughly straight as well
and this is how i left it tonight needs abit more dressing with the dolly but its now solid
Where are you ordering your parts from?
i seem to be ordering stuff from everywhere at the moment
dry sump kit of Lacey --was spot on
GP4 is building me axle
my drysump tank came from off here -then i chopped bits off it
had a rummage through my collection of cutter and found i had all but everything here to pipe my dry sump kit in just need a -12 to 3/4 bspp adapter and a length of -12 hose
anyway todays work
made a cut for the dry sump tank chopped some plate bashed it abit and tigged it all in
plus welded a few minor repairs that i cut out 5 years ago ish
oh then i chucked a wing on to check my door gaps just needs a little tweak
good work as always...getting there...cheers mark
cheers Mark
been making some small progress winters coming it always slows me down a bit
bought a group 4 type cross member to suit chassis mounted engine mounts but it was converted to a different type steering rack
so i had to cut them off and return to some lowered rack mounts
then i found my lower column bush was worn through so i ordered some bush bar and made on on the lathe at work ( a old herbert looks pre ww2 but it works and does the job )
came out ok for me doing it and allowed me to align the column and rack so my mounts were in the right place
rack mounts all tigged up
then i fit my compression strut brackets, and trial fit to my rose jointed bottom arms
it should let me throw some castor at it i still have the option of running my twincam anti roll bar as well if i dont like the compression strut handling
ordered my chassis mount kit for the duratec and some other bits n bobs from rallyweld fabrications was happy with the parts they sent quality looked spot on
also got my disc bells from ebay so just need the caliper brackets and my 304mm front brake setup will be sorted
they look huge in a 15" compomotive rim
if nowt else it should stop well
decided to crack on fitting the front
ive modified it abit so my wings now bolt on
took a age just to get everything to align ,i ended up chopping a section out of the os wing to make it fit the front panel
one down one part done
the nearside front wings arched still a few small detail parts to finish but its coming along
had to modify the front edge behind the bumper as it was no where near fitting right
seems ok now though
also fabricated a couple of rad supports and modified the lower cross member to suit the radiator im using (still have to make the radiator mounts)
offsetting the radiator to the O/S
there should be plenty of room for the oil cooler in there aswell
looking good boss, keep the updates coming
cheers jimmy
not done much ,just fitted the radiator (kit car rad its loads bigger than a normal one came complete with kenlow fan)
and a little notch for the dry sump tank
may end up rotating the tank 90 degrees yet depending how the outlet meets the pump
started again
fit my engine and box chassi mounted
notched the tank to clear the pump
had a fit up session to check it all fits
got my watts towers in and finished it all seems ok
trying to get it finished sooner as 9 years is to long
its been a while but
it goes ok
mapped it myself on a emu classic
Credit to you and what a cracking job
Just read start to finish, incredible metal work, and patience, well done.
