Anybody?
Anybody?
fuel pressure is normaly circa 3 bar approx 43 psi
if that was the question?
That's about right. For a 2.0 duratec it's 3 1/2 bar
yep ran mine at 3 bar

Ok cool...so a 4 bar fuel pump would work?
yes pressure wise but you still need a regulator (after rail in return line) to put pressure at rail down to 3 bar.
got a standard regulator on so think that would be fine....
the blacktop fuel rail pressure regulator pressure is 270kpa (2.7 bar) IIRC.

This is a necro but...
There are two very different zetec "black top" engines. The OG Zeta and the newer Sigma.
The original blacktop Zeta, or Zetec-S, was made in only 1.8L & 2.0L (inc. ST170 and mk1 RS Duratecs) and uses a 380Kpa fuel pressure regulator (Ford #1053950) which looks like this (vac pip straight out the top, 90 degree angle on fuel pipe at bottom, attachment to rail at the back) >>
The newer Zetec-SE (Yamaha collab) is made 1.25L, 1.4L, 1.6L and 1.7L (VVT) and uses (I think) 270 Kpa regulator for roughly pre 2010 which looks like this >>
Whatever it looks like (the later sigmas uses a different regulator i think) you'll know pretty quickly that you've the wrong one. As you will with the "dromedary" fuel pumps that are sold for £10-£20 that are supposed to work for 1.4 1.6 1.8 and 2.0L. They don't work for black top 1.8 and 2L as they're only 3 bar. The right pump is 4 bar and I haven't found a pattern one, only a bosch for about £40. The 3 bar will fit if you ram the multiplug in, as the groove is on the wrong side (I found a 3 bar with the groove on the right side as well - didn't work) and it will probably make your car move a few hundred feet at a time depending on how much you push it and you will question life itself until you realise it's the wrong thing.
