    just bought a mk2 rs2000. Why does it have a fuel return pipe

    I am sure my previous RS, a 1978 one only had one fuel pipe to the Weber

    likewise late pinto engined cortinas had them. it was probably done for emission purposes, having a return reduces most likely dampens and reduces fuel pressure at the float valve so it better controls fuel level in float bowl and reduces the chances of the carb flooding

    A fuel return means that hot fuel (underbonnet heat) can return to the tank so vapourlock isn't happening.
