    Love The Beast

Whilst being dragged round my local Sainsbury's yesterday I managed to slope off for 5min to the dvd section and found this.
One of the bestt car dvd's Ive ever seen and it explained to me (in some way) why I'm as attached to my car as I am, and not other cars. I wont go into it in too much detail but Eric Bana who is in this film/documentary has owned his "beast" for 25 years. Thats some going for an old car when Bana must get paid millions for the films he starrs in.
Anyway here's the link and the film was only a fiver and it includes quite a funny interview with Clarkson at the end.

    I agree,

It was a great expression of how Im 'not the only one!' I used it to help explain to the missus why i do it. well worth a watch if not for any more than a well prepared old falcon.

got this dvd just before christmas and i agree with jon, this has got to be one of the best car dvds out there, and can probably explain why we all get attached to our cars. Even the mrs liked it.

    Re: Love The Beast

Just like you Jon I have a sentimental attachment to a car, in my case like Eric it's my first car, and I'm lucky to still have it. It hasn't seen the road for 12 years, but someday it will be reborn

I've ordered the DVD now, can't wait to watch it!

Had seen him talking about it on top gear and then forgot about it. Cheers for the reminder, will look for it and get it watched.

Looks like a film about most of the geezers on here...!

    Re: Love The Beast

I got a warm funny feeling just watching that clip. Incidently I just had a breather hose delivered for my mk2 which I am now promptly going to fit. One small step closer to the goal i guess..........!

    Re: Love The Beast

it made me really want to go drive my car, which was annoying as it was 60 miles away and is currently broken.
ah well, i picked my replacement engine up the day after, hopefully work will start this weekend if the snow stops.

If you are anything like (as in you're into cars not that your fat and bald) you'll enjoy it and relate to almost all of it. Well worth £6 from tesco direct if you ask me.

    I'm off to my garage......
