24v Capri Problem
Hi. I have a mk3 capri with a 24v engine fitted. I finally finished fitting the engine and everything, and then on the first test run I found that when you press the gas pedal, it won't "fly" away, its holding back for some reason.. Its running nice on idle, but when you rev it, it sounds almost like it's not firing on all cylinders, but if you are veery gentle with the gas pedal, it revs normally.. Any ideas?
Many thanks.

24v Capri Problem
Sounds like it's lean maybe. ?
Check fuel pump and filter etc as I guess map is standard and fixed.

Re: 24v Capri Problem
Have now changed the fuel pump to a bosh 044, and checked the rest of the fuel hoses etc.. Still the same. If this was a turbo powered car I would say its running lean..

Re: 24v Capri Problem
have you got a timing gun?
Check whether you are gettiing any movement in timing. The EDIS can go into limpmode to get you home by limiting the timing to 10deg if its not getting the right signal from the ECU
