New member new project MK2 escort

    Hello everyone,

Thanks for taking a look, this is the second Mk2 ive owed, the first being 14-15 years ago when prices of good cars werent silly money. however that one was not to be, and went up in flames as i was driving it, then went down the 4x4 cossie route missed rwd and swapped to beemers. always missing my mk2 and watching the prices climb..... so some years and two kids later, i had some spare funds and a place to build a car. so i had 5k to buy a project, so my options were a a completely rotten english "barn find", abandoned project "someone elses bojes" or a imported shell. i went for the later, and found a place down south the deals in south african imports, paid the guy a visit last weekend and returned this weekend to collect my project. i will try to upload pics in my build thread which will start when i actually start the car, in couple of weeks, ive got 90 % panels it needs. and now need the tools for the job in hand. this will be my first full resto. i have built my cossie engine in the past, but never fab or body repairs... im not looking for a show car, however i would like it to look presentable, im building something that gets used in anger when the time is right lol. rather than stand in the field talking about it, think more going sideways around the field..... well ive probably bored you enough now, so thanks again for looking... Jon

Welcome to TS and well done with the project

I like the fact it's got opening front quarter lights on it.
