    Car tracker

    Hi folks

Im in the market for a tracker for my car, anyone got one they could recommend?

Ive been looking at ones around the £200 mark which are magnetic and a pretty lengthy battery life.

Figured its would be a wise purchase as these old Fords are going missing more these days! Although its cutting into my LSD fund

my thoughts on them are, if mine went missing I don’t think I’d want to see it again, same when I had my eco 7 and insurance asked about a tracker, and they have ways round trackers now and to find them, if they want the car you can slow them down but you will never stop them.

    Plenty of options out there.

And damn right you'd want to find the car, hopefully the thieves and slit their throats.

The nano plus looks pretty decent, ill need to have a proper look into it! Not sure how these work in relation to police gettig involved but im sure packing a baseball bat and a few mates will get the motor back!

IMO Phone them to discuss your needs as there really are too many options.

Obviously the police themselves will not be tracking these, but you'd like to hope they'd act on information via it if the car did go walkies.

I've had this one for a while....( actually this thread reminded me I need to renew the subscription )

With hindsight...probably not the best choice given I do only use it as a simple tracker as car spends most of its life in the garage anyway.

But it does have features where if all fully wired in, you could remotely kill the car etc But I think you also need to buy some text messages or something for that. Even the alerts for vehicle movements etc...never did get that configured either, as again I got the impression you need to buy text messages so it can alert you.

But the GPSLive app or website does allow live tracking and movement history etc.

Probably should sort the alert thingy...although my main concern wasnt so much at home, but if I was using the car and staying away from home at hotels and the like

    Re: Car tracker

A friend of mine had his car stolen and he tracked it to a set of garages. He called the police and when they arrived he sent it a text and it set off a siren which enabled them to pinpoint which one it was in.
