Mk5 RS2000 Handbrake Lever Arm

Hi, hoping someone can help, just bought this car off a mate. He told me the handbrake wasn't working one side so naturally i thought it would be a broken cable but having put it through its mot i've found out the lever arm for the cable (the one that sits inside the brake disc and comes through the backing plate) is missing! I phoned ford who quoted me £156 + vat for a complete kit but they then told me they stopped making it four years ago! I've searched on e-bay and rung a few scrap yards but they have all said unless the car is there when i phone they wont have one as its not the type of thing they'd keep on the shelf! Hoping someone can help, is the nearside one! Thanks
