H&H pinto ignition system using Vauxhall dry coil

Evening, I have the above ignition system on my pinto and was wondering if the coil has to be directly mounted to the body or can it be mounted to a plate and then rubber bobbins to attach that to the car? I am just about to try and start the engine after a long rebuild and was checking for spark by switching on the ignition and moving the dizzy back and fore over no1 lead to see if I could get a spark. I had this setup before but it was mounted directly to the bodywork and worked fine.
    Cheers

The rubber bobbins will isolate the coil - run a separate earthing wire from coil mount fixing to the car body - clean metal not painted. Some coils don't need earthing - some do...............doesn't cause any issues if it is earthed, regardless of needed or not!

I must admit I thought the same tbh, but as I once managed to wire up a cigarette lighter wrong I thought I'd stay out of it...
