    Mk1 RS2000 Brake Pipe Routes

Does anyone have any pics or info on what way the brake pipes ran in the engine bay originally in a mk1 RS2000? i have an original Brake servo with the two outlets, one slightly larger than the other in diameter. Which one is used for the front and which for the back? Also what route the pipes take in the engine bay. The car is being built to original spec so would be great if anyone can help me with this problem.

I can't find the pic just now, but somewhere on this PC I have a picture of the engine bay of a MK1 RS2000 which shows some of the brake pipe routing.

Also if one of the outlets on you r m/c is M12x1 you've most likely got a cortina one, the RS2000 m/cs were M10x1 on both outlets.

That would be great if you have a pic I was told by a friend who has a mk1 rs to get the servo with one green and one red outlet plastic covers and one was larger than other, guess he was wrong:P
What is the reason for the different sized outlets, and does the front brake lines go in the M12 one or the M10?

Re: Mk1 RS2000 Brake Pipe Routes

I've no idea why the outlets are different sized, it was only on the MK3 Cortina as far as I have been able to tell, the actual bore size is the same as the RS2000. I only mentioned this as some trainspotter at a show is bound to notice
The M12 connection nearest the servo does the front brakes, the M10 one does the rears.

Here's a couple of photos of a MK1 RS2000 I helped rebuild, the brake lines were routed as we thought fit rather than to original spec but it does show you what goes where! I can't find the picture of the RS engine bay I had, christ knows what I did with it

Brake warning switch : Front brakes are on the left (inlet centre), rear brakes on the right (inlet top)

Mk2, but it shows how they go on the servo tower quite well. There is a plastic winged clip on top of the tower that holds the 2 lines in place

Thanks for the pics mate, nice job by the way Went for a slightly different route but think it should be ok as it follows the original lines as far as i know. And thanks Dave for the mk2 info, have a mk2 shell waiting in the sidelines but planning a grp2 recreation with that one I'll try to post pics but for some reason i cant get them to upload on this site yet........have no idea why but it's not happening.

Finally sorted the upload issue, seems my internet doesn't like the advanced attachment option with drag and drop scheme

Now that is a stunner already

You decided to ditch the warning valve in favour of a t-piece then? I wanted to, but as it's 'original' we decided to keep it . Crap they are.

Thanks very much. We had heard quite a few bad points about the warning valve so decided to go with the T-piece option instead
