    Carburetor engine ignition systems

    A friend of mine runs a Toyota 4AGE (1.6 16v) on Weber 45's.

When he originally carried out the conversion he used a companies ignition setup which consisted of a modified Ford dizzy laid on its side in the normal 4AGE location.

This setup has worked ok for 2 years but has had issues with oil getting into the cap and obviously causing a lot of missfires etc. Apparently the setup wasn't ideal fitment wise in the first place but I've not seen it in bits to comment on exactly how its modified.

As a alternative to get back to using the original 4AGE dizzy you can use one of these :

Reviews show it as being a good item but I can't help but think its about £20 worth of bits in a plastic box and ofcourse its not a uk seller which means we may be waiting for a while.

Does anyone else know of any similar solutions to allow him to still use the oe dizzy rather than the Ford setup.

    Photo of installation?

Check if there's a 4AGE engine (or similar) that runs a normal distributor.
