shortening typ e rocket
best members,
i have a ford 4 speed type e rocket gearbox laying around, for a racecar butt the tail of the gearbox is to long. is there anybody that nows if you can shorten this type of gearbox?
i now you can do it with a t9 gearbox butt can you also do it to this typ gerabox?
i hope somebody can help me out!!

Are you talking the whole overall length or just the gear lever extension? If the former then no (or at least not economically as its major engineering) - the latter, yes then possibly as its just simple cutting and shutting!

Hi, some of the Australian Escorts had a Type E fitted but with a tail housing that had the gearstick 50 mm forward, similar to the one pictured here http://www.oldskoolford.co.uk/ipb/in...-gearbox-help/
I do have one of the tailhousings and associated parts if you need better pictures

does anybody now which gearboxes will fit a ford pinto 2.0? without modifications?

Any type E or Type 9 (from a 4 cylinder), BW T5, MT75's (although physically big), mazda 5 and 6 speeders (need a bellhousing adapter plate) plus plenty of rally / race derivatives.
