koln rear axle short ratio

Hi boy. I have a Escort mk2 1.6 with Koln rear axle ratio 4,4:1. Is it possible find crown wheel and pinion set in other short ratio (4,7-4,9-5,1 ecc) ?????? Thank you very much !!!

buy an Atlas for the same money or even less and save up for a C/P for that one :-)

koln are not very popular due to weakness.
try to to find a banjo, a lot of ratio are available

Funny - everyone says they are weak................... but no one uses them! As they were fitted to 'Export' shells used in 'rugged' market roads they can't be that weak? Probably not widely used due to lack of alternative ratio's and performance goodies IMO!

A lot of friends are use them in genuine cars, but when it comes to fit an LSD, they install a RS2000 item, so banjo, and for more power, atlas.

It was mainly Borg Warner axles that were fitted to export Escorts, they are quite strong but very hard to get LSD's for.

Are you sure its a Koln and not a BW69 axle? what shape is the diff cover?

Oh yes .Unfortunatlely I'm sure. It rear axle of mk2 escort 1.1 four door for italy export. The shape is semi-round whit 10 bolt.......
