    Thank you

Just wanted to say a massive thank you to guys on here, specifically Graham and Erikmex, also RWD Jason who I don’t think comes on here any more. You all massively contributed to my first ‘big’ Pinto engine build which I’m delighted to say has been a massive success, it’s in the car and running and even before a RR tune is bloody fast! All the info you have willingly contributed I’m eternally grateful for and couldn’t have done without. Just want to do another one now!! 😂😂

    Re: Thank you

It certainly is, I know the venturis are too big and the jetting will probably be miles off as I’ve just got it running with the standard stuff my 48’s came with, but I can’t believe how hard it pulls and how free revving it is. I’m trying to be a bit careful with it for the first few outings but it just wants to rev! By the hell above 4000 it just takes off, it’s infectious!!

Always good to hear success stories and thankyous are something that people generally don't do enough of, so well done.

The 3 have a wealth of information, I'm also glad that they have the willingness and make the considerable effort to help others and share their knowledge.

Have you got a build thread/specs for your engine?

    Re: Thank you

That jetting and chokes will certainly give a good top end which might be good in your light car, i use 40mm chokes, F11 tubes, 170main, 55f9 idle, AC 180 and 45 pump jets. Ive tried a huge amoutn of e tubes and always come back to F11's. I used an Innovate wideband AFR gauge to get the fuelling right before a rolling road, best £150 ive spent.

    Re: Thank you

Thanks Shaun, I agree the willingness of guys on here to share findings and information is pretty incredible, not just limited to the 3 guys I mentioned, there’s been lots of contributors that have been more than happy to help a bloke build an engine!
There is no build thread I’m afraid, for no other reason than it would have been way too long, it ended up taking me 2 years to finish as I was made redundant during the build and just had to shelve it while I got myself back on my feet.
Brief specs are 202 block, decked 0.010” bored to 92mm. Wossner pistons and PEC 136mm rods. Injection head ported by me, skimmed for 44cc chambers. REC 45.5mm inlets and 38mm exhaust valves, k line guides. Cometic 0.051” head gasket. Kent RL22 cam (used for no other reason than I already had it, and would be an easy swap if I really didn’t like it!) double valve springs. Burtons steel flywheel. Weber 48’s on a Dave Brooks manifold and linkage.

    Re: Thank you

Cheers, if that’s the case I’ll be one very happy camper! Even now before a RR session it’s great, not much below 3500 unless on a really light throttle, but above it bloody flies, though I’m trying to be a bit careful as it’s very early in its life yet!

Can I have a guess at that question?
I think I've heard Eric mention it to be quite light, so I'm saying 850kilo?

Hmm maybe I will get away with a more top end biased setup then, my kit car is just under 650kg
