Type 9 FMS cut down for crossflow. Will G/box work if I change to a zetec?

As above. When I fitted my Type 9 I used a V6 version.
So I had to shorten the first motion shaft and grind away some of the clutch splines toget it working behind the Kent. Pretty standard stuff.
Now that I am thinking of changing to a zetec engine, I'm wondering will it bolt in and work??
I think it will as it was "just" changed to align it with a standard type 9 box but you never know

The Xflow / Pinto / Zetec crankshaft / flywheel relationship to back of the block is common across all those engines - not so the V6's hence the different 1st motion shaft.

I bought a couple of 8mm spacer plates to go between the bellhousing and gearbox and then cut the end of the input shaft flush with the bellhousing.
No need to grind off any spline this way.

I thought as much but dont like to assume.
It usually leads to hardship in my experience....

Surely that will just put you back to where you are now. Using a spacer will shift your gear shift back from what you have now. If it helps and you still want one I think retroford sell them.

I bought mine from retroford and although it does indeed push the box back, for some weird reason the original auto crossmember(auto shell) still bolted up to the floor using the original tunnel mounts without any other modifications. Go figure!!!
