I'm good thank you Graham and hope you and yours are too.
I pop in very occasionally and marvel at how active the shoutbox is. You can scroll back over 12 months on one page!!
Used to be if you missed one night you'd have 50 pages to look through if you could be bothered.

Hi Dave, hope you can help me as well. I have the same problem with my Y reg cabstar with engine code TD27T, just wondering what engine you put in yours in the End? I would appreciate your help. Thanks.

TD27 out of a Japanese imported Terrano auto. Were they called mavericks? Think that might be the Ford version of the same thing. Deffo Jap import auto though.
I didn't do it but seem to recall there were issues with manifolds and oil cooler but other than that they swapped over.
I think the smoking is excess fuel and related to cold start system on an auto. Soon warms up and smoke clears, pulls like a train and copes with ton payload and a 2 ton trailer on the back like it's not there.

Thanks Dave. I had found a TD27Ti off a Terrano 2 but Nissan said it won't fit for some reason. Do you remember what code your replacement one was. I will look around for a japanese import.

I'm guessing the one they say won't fit is the more modern version with "fly by wire" accelerator control. I would think any older Terrano engine will fit that has ordinary manual control (throttle cable rather than electronic wire)
I only used a Jap import as that was what was available at the time.

Thanks Dave. I will speak to my mechanic so we can make sure ee get the right engine. Hopefully he is familiar with the difference.
