mk2 mexico had a pinto engine, so do you mean mk1 mex or mk2 1600 sport?
either way idfs will perform as well in lower states of tune, dcoe tend to out perform on the radical engines, but thats more about the 90 degree turn in the manifold than the carbs themselves.
you other alternative is lower the servo tower
Thanks graham.mk2 mexico but 1700xflow.i have lowered servo tower but because its short manifold front trumpet just catches.i am wanting to put filters on and doing away with trumpets as the engine/rocker/valve noise mentioed in previous thred is coming through carbs when butterflys are open.so am trying to quieten it down with foam filters etc if you get where im coming from cheers
friend of mine is running a pinto on IDF's and ive never been in a pinto with DCOE's that even comes remotely close to the smooth power delivery and low down grunt of this. it never boggs down, and delivers power incredibly smoothly. As a road car, IDF's would be nice to live with and id choose them over DCOE's if you have a choice.
Is that seriously a competition in someones (admittedly large) front drive ? Barking!
very brave to have someone hand braking past your front door great clip though.
lol yeah, its a large farm, so there are a number of tests around the house and yards.
its our club summber bbq autotest. a few have come VERY close, but no body has hit the house...yet
Hi all new member here.i to am interested in idfs on a xflow my question is a specific model/number as most for sale refur to vw engines etc.thanks
Why would anyone want IDFs rather than DCOEs on a Xflow?...Bearing in mind the only reason Ford implemented IDFs on the Group 1 RS 2000 was primarily because is was homologated as a left hooker..
on rs2000 i assume room for the brake servo/ battery ??
