I went and collected the Blue one on Saturday, nice to meet you Adam, it was a late one, unloaded it at Midnight, rolled it straight on the ramp to change the starter motor, that packed up just before I went to view, then fixed the fuel leak, got into bed about 2:30am.

Its now up and running again just need to tinker with it and refit a cooker & water pump for the sink that I have spare and give the interior a clean up.
Hopefully get a couple of shows in before the Winter, then hoping mine is back on the road and my brother is looking at using this one.

Turns out the red one was being sold by the guy I'd sold it to, spoke to him last night and it did sell for best part of £2800 and the bidder was over the moon with it !!!

He's wanted one for years and intends spending £20k on restoring with a Zetec fitted.

I bought the blue one from Rich about 4 years ago now. Since the birth of my daughter a year or so ago, it hasn't been used at all, and I've just bought a mark 1 Transit to replace it - bit more practical for the family. So, it is with regret that later this summer I'll be putting the Nimbus up for sale...

I never did fit the Zetec in the end, and the new (old) Transit has a gutless 1700 V4 which has just blown a head gasket, so I'm thinking I'll be keeping the Zetec to put in that. I'm told it'll fit with no mods, without relocating the thermostat, and with a mondeo sump, so once it's fitted, I'll have a water rail and sump going spare suitable for fitting a zetec to a mk1 escort.

It's now running on Lotus Twin Cam rims, and has had new core plugs and a new fuel pump. I'll be MoTing it once I've found the time to fit some new track rod ends. Don't see a problem with it passing its MoT. It is of course tax exempt, and I do have it insured, so will stick 12 months tax in the window once it's MoT'd.

Will post some pics once I've had the time to give it a clean and polish...

Just a quick note to say that I sold mine to Colin (savvi) at the weekend, so can everyone else please stop PM'ing me about it!

Sad to see it go, but now I can justify the time to do the head gaskets on the transit, and fit the 5 speed type 9 I've got for it. Will open up another thread about that at some point.

Enjoy the Nimbus Colin - sounds like the "new owner burst of entheusiasm" has seen you through fixing the issues already!

Old post but after going to Avo day @ Hatton Park on June 21st im looking to sell the blue Nimbus, my brother has 1st dibs but its looking like he maybe losing his job so not sure if he can commit to it. I just had to replace the cylinder head as it was cracked also fitted a standard carb & Exhaust as id had problems with the webber and 4 branch being for a 1600 and not a 1300. I've refitted a cooker and tidied all the wiring up where it had an alternator conversion, as well as loads of other bit n boobs as you do !!!

I have a Escort camper, estate and van stand at the Avo day so hopefully there will be a few attending and its a good show, anyone interested can view the nimbus there, it still has Mot until September and fairly solid for a Mk1 escort but theres a few places that need attention and it has a few bubbles on the paintwork in places, having said that its very usable and runs really well now since I spent a weekend on it. My brother has used it more then me as im away most weekends in my Vw T5 camping and not really managed to get back into the Ford scene since my separation last year.

Really unsure was hoping someone would make an offer at Avo day. The red one was rotten and sold for £2600 I think, I have agreed value of £5k on it, if that helps. Prices are so varied and mental money it's hard to value. Your welcome to Pm me to have a chat, if genuinely interested ?
