Dcoe jetting - anyone identify ?
I know it's a silly question really but just curious if this is s known configuration.
I just acquired a set of 3 prog. Hole 45 152 carbs. Possibly from a zetec setup which may explain
Chokes 36
Idles 60 f6
Main 110
Emulsion f11
Air 155
Any thoughts ?

Re: Dcoe jetting - anyone identify ?
110 main jet is very unlikely with a 60 idle jet.
Check if the main jets have been bored out.

Big idle jet tiny main, with 36mm chokes that would run massively lean on any engine

Yes I wondered if the big idle was to overcome zetec flat spot but 110 seems too small even for 1800. I will check if it's drilled.

That would make transition worse, it would go rich to massively lean

Re: Dcoe jetting - anyone identify ?
generally with zetecs the prescribed cure for the progression flat spot is to richen the idle jets, its the small main thats odd

Re: Dcoe jetting - anyone identify ?
Yeah, that would create a much bigger flat spot on transition, I doubt it would even run

Re: Dcoe jetting - anyone identify ?
i have just checked and they are not drilled - i'm wondering if someone has jet swapped prior to selling at some point................
anyway, i will be trying them during next few months on a pinto 2.0 self ported, fr32, compression raised by 1.25 head skim.
now from my research it appears the std supplied factory jetting should get me close.
i also see that its possible to drill the f6 to f8 and then f9 which will help.
and from what leon has said in the past i dont think the E tube will matter to much f11 / f16 ?
opinions welcome.

Re: Dcoe jetting - anyone identify ?
E tubes matter a huge amount, they alter the fuelling everywhere. Use f11 change idles to 50-55 ish if you have them, drill main jet to 150 (1.5mm) then see how fuelling is towards top end and potentially change AC to about a 180, getting the idle to main is the first and most important part.

Re: Dcoe jetting - anyone identify ?
i should have been clearer in that he said they are less important in a mild state of tune. possibly your actually agreeing by pointing at f11 as most seem to use f16

Re: Dcoe jetting - anyone identify ?
E-tube selection is crucial in any state of tune. I’ve always found f11’s work well in Pintos

In my experience changing the emulsion tubes in a std engine with small-ish carbs (like 2 litre Pinto with std cam and twin 40's) doesn't change alot. With an engine with a FR32 and twin 45's it will matter (alot). Like Erikmex said F11's will work well.

Leon - apologies for the misquote 😊
(I read a lot of old posts the other night while having a bevy ! )
And thank you both for the ( valued) advice.
I do have both as it happens and was going to use the f16 but will go with the f11.

I used to always use f16’s in Pintos until I discovered how much better f11’s were across all revs, shame you didn’t post this in summer as I had some f11 vs 16 afr graphs from my car. I’ll try and find them on my laptop
