    world cup lower or not....

    hi all
i was jacking my gearbox up last night trying to establish the final position of the gearbox cross member and trying to get as much clearance as possible at the bulkhead. i noticed after cutting the tunnel out that the gearbox would not go any higher at the back. i presumed it was hitting the strengthening under the handbrake but it's not.

The front of the RetroFord sump is touching the steering rack. i have always presumed lower rack mount WCXM was for high suspension angles on forest rally cars but now i think i might need one. will that then mean if the car is very low that the steering arms will be badly angled?
anyone got a similar set up? any ideas?

i want to get as much clearance at the bulkhead as possible so inturn i wanted the prop end of the gearbox as high as possible. looks like i will just bolt it in as it is.
i jus t wanted to know if anyone else had come across this.

looks like i am going to have about 5 to 6mm clearance over the rack now the box is mounted. i can,t remember what an rs2 has with an ally sump on standard mounts but wanted a bit more really. We always want a bit more of everything me thinks!!
