Ford type e rocket gearbox: countershaft removal
Hello
I'm relatively new to the car restoration scene so I got stuck when repairing my rocket gearbox.
I cannot seam to be able to pull the countershaft out from the bottom of the gearbox. I have already stripped the selector assembly and gear lever. I loosened the tail housing and turned it in to position, also removed the bell housing.
Please advise what am I missing to get the gears out. The main goal of this project is to replace the first gear brass sunchro to a new one.
Thank you

You knock the layshaft out from the front of the gearbox - ie using a drift/punch you knock the layshaft out towards the tailcasing. The gear will then drop down allowing the mainshaft assembly to be removed.
