    Retroford water rail query

Just recently fitted a water rail from Retroford on my Zetec, the heater hose outlet has an m8 threaded hole, obviously threaded to plug if not running heater, however, if you are is the 8mm hole big enough for sufficient flow or do you drill it out?? seems small to me???
