    Std. St170 engine

    Hallo I'm from Czech.
I have st170 into my Sierra sedan.
    Engine spec:
    Std st170 engine
    1.8 cvh sump and mounts
    GSX-R 1000 ITB
AP racing FRS clutch And flywheel
    470ccm FRS injectors
VVT delete kit and inlet cam 30-40* advanced
    Megasquirt 3 + ms3x board

I have turbo charger from FRS: GT25 and zetec turbo exhaust And inlet mannifold made by myself. And other things for turbo conversion.

    My question is:
Its the std. St170 engine good for 250 hp? On 98+ Ron Fuel ?

I'd say std. compression would be too high for the boost to support that output. GT25 is a good turbo and should make that power but it is at the top end of its efficiency range if a GT2554R - better may be a GT2571R or even a GT28R that will have the airflow at lower boost?

I know a couple of guys runnnig st170 bottom end and blacktop heads who achieving around that level of power with turbo charging. They removed the st170 heads to remove the complication of the vvt, but I think i they had stuck with it they would have been able to go to 280ish. More than that they would have been limited by their tubos as they are using TD04-13t from Subarus
