    dry sump piston skirt oiling

Hi All, I want to dry sump my turbo YB stage 3 and a bit! as im heading towards slicks and aero. Plenty of systems to choose from but need to know what happens to the under piston oil spray bar on the standard system. Don't want to be stripping engine to fit remote oil squirters to the block. any knowledge out there?

But won't the oil spray bar be on the pump pressure side just like the engine bearings so whether dry or wet sump shouldn't make any difference or is the delivery into the block significantly different when dry sumped?

when you dry sump you have to remove the oe oil pump (no room for it) so you loose the cooling spray jets as they are attached to the oil pump itself. so drilling and tapping the main gallery for jets is the only option

great question. Pinto rods have the oil spray drilled into them, i seem to remember discussion about doing the same to cossy rods when doing a pinto turbo and using a pinto sump and pump.

would that suffice ?? still needs rods out for the work though and maybe easier to have the oil squirters fitted. Will a decent baffled big wing sump etc not suffice ?

Ive got the G19 gated sump, but my engine builder was specific about that being suitable on semis and no aero, he is not available today so thought Id ask around forst to see if there was other opinions but its looking like engine apart so i might Accusump it until it needs a rebuild.
