just found out that my mates mk1 twin cam has been stolen.original bubble arch car with swaymar v6 on triple webers,possibly a superspeed car.taken out of it's garage in the potters bar area of hertfordshire.had been off the road since the late 80's so not in great condition.ermine white with split rims.not sure of all the details yet.will update as i find out.

found nothing! reg is WXE 931H car has 13" compomotive split rims not sure how wide but 8's at least.old recaro drivers seat,after market type with a contour passengers.roll cage,atlas axle.and the most striking thing is the dash is from a mk2 escort.getting pic's tomorrow and more info i hope.heard someone was approached by a bloke from watford to steal the car,he knew where it was and colour,supposed to be a cossie owner,on the trail of who this might be,got the company they work for already.

Not this one DD, they pulled that one across a field out Hertford way. They cut the side of the building out to get the twink away and seeing as whatelse was in there deffo taken to order. Longtime lurker and extremely rare poster. I wonder if forum members could keep a lookout for my capri which was stolen this morning 30/04/10 from outside an address in Wallasey. Merseyside. Some time between 11.30pm on the 29th and 6.30am on the 30th of April. the car in question is a 1982 4 speed 2.8 injection titan blue over stratos silver featuring original recaro check interior with blue in it. registration number XRE 410X some of you may remember the car as belonging to RAMBO during 2008. Identifying features of this car:- Rear panel has towing eye aperture but no towing eye. As I'm sure many of you capri guru's on here would know that early injections should have a completely solid rear valence, it must of been repaired at some point in it's life. passenger side door mirror was a chrome one sprayed black, a lot of the original chrome was showing through the paint. Car was very solid with original panels except for rear valence as mentioned. Paint was a little dull and there were quite a few scratches on car. sunroof panel was showing some oxidisation.
Would be grateful if any member of this forum who sees this car or who is offered parts they suspect may of come from this car if they could pm me please. forgot to mention that this car was mechanically extremely good.

Jesus from the pics in this thread, and those on Ebay it looks like THE car-centre roof aerial, washer jets in front scuttle, brake bottles, white mirrors-even the washer bottle hoses look to be in exactly the same position. I'd be getting over there right now with a few big mates and dragging it home-get him on it! Seems they've sat on it for 10 years for the heat to settle then boom!

Potters Bar where initially stolen to Brentwood, not far at all. Has to be the same car from the pics.
The mesh at the rear of the bonnet for the bonnet bulge is also extremely similar.
Convenient that the chassis plate tag has been removed also.
Looks very much like the car to me.

Wonder how that works - insurance pays out, they own it. They sell it, new owner. Sold / bought how many times in 10 yrs - how much value increased? A genuine Uren Savage ain't going to be cheap!
if this had been recovered and then sold by the insurance company at say an auction ,i'm sure it would have been well advertised .it's a grey area but the first thing that needs to happen is the recovery of the car.too many go missing and are never found especially after so long.
I guess what katana might be saying is that IF the car was recovered and sold on after the insurance pay out, then this is no longer your friends property. And this may then be a legal sale and a lot of jumping up and down over nothing.
Does anyone know of a way to find out if this car was recovered and sold on? Because before anyone goes recovering cars or getting the big guns out it would be worth making sure it's still illegally owned

you're right .i'm not sure if it was recovered and since sold on but being as the car looks so unaltered you never know.if that's the case in the end that's just the way it goes but i don't have the info at the moment.
as far as the car owner knows from speaking to the insurance company the car had not been recovered and sold on.i need Robs number,the seller on e-bay .someone must have bought parts off him.thanks.
He has watches for sale, ask him for his number on that listing and he might think your into his watches. Ask him saying it's about the esc and he might ignore you.
