Id say that's definitely the same car
Any updates.....
car was just sold before add for bonnet went up ,sold on to someone who had buyer in Germany where it was destined for classic car racing.now it's in the hands of the previous owner.not heard from him in a couple of weeks .doubt he's bothered to chase it as hard as i would have just shows that always keep updating on stolen cars as they do surface sometimes.if the old bill had bothered to chase up the time the wheels were for sale a couple of years back then the car would have been recovered, but we know they have little interest i can't do anymore and a big thanks to a certain person on this site who raised the alarm .who knows might surface on a track in Europe somewhere but will no doubt be transformed and near impossible to ID. thanks .
I said this a while ago but i think it would be a great idea to mark every part and panel you buy for your car incase something like this happens and your cars nicked and sold for parts on Ebay and gumtree.
On my car its written inside anything that ever comes off, I mark it with my last name & postcode.
Its inside wheels under the tyres, under the dash, behind the fuel tank, underside of the tank , under the seats, inside the doors, back of door cards, on the unseen rear of the radiator etc etc. I have even engraved the inside of the sump & rocker cover!
I take photos on my phone of anything I mark so I remember where they are.
I started this after our mk2 was stolen & some bits removed like the alloy wheels. The car was eventually recovered & the removed bits were in the thief's lockup. In court we couldn't 'prove' the parts recognised as mine were off the stolen car.. the thief got to keep them!
You don't need make a special job of it, any time something is in bits mark it with the reg number somewhere discrete
With this virus going round and emergency services including police being over stretched i reckon the crime rate will increase... get those classics protected
