    Floor Panel - Needs Replacing??

Hi. Slowly working my way from the back to the front of my Mk1 Escort.

I realise that it is hard to see from the picture but do you think that I need to let in a replacement section to this floor pan? This will be a tarmac rally car not a concourse car.

I have used my poking stick and cannot put it through the metal. The underside of the panel looks like new with absolutely no signs of rust or pitting.

If it's just the pitting you're worried about, then in your climate I'd leave it as it is. I might replace it if the car had to live here!

Thats what I was thinking. Just a little concerned about how much strength may have been lost...

Cant see much strength being lost... But if it concerns you that much and it isn't a concourse car, weld a plate over it.

    Job done.
