    Blown Wiper Motor MK2

    Hi Guys,

I've blown the wiper motor in my MK2 yesterday. It's been wired up direct with 12v power from a relay and just an on/off switch connected to just the high speed setting with no park feature. Not using the standard switch / stalks.

Can the motor handle constant 12v power or is there something wrong with how we've done it?

    Cheers,

    Matt

High speed should normally be 12v direct (ignition switched) - lower speeds have to be resistor voltage lowered because you can't create and add volts over and above 12v to get faster speeds!

Low speed on the wiper motor is done via a 2nd connection of the motor windings. No resistor needed.
