    Type E gearbox

Hello, is there any difference between a normal mk2 Escort ohv type E gearbox and a rs 2000 one? Like bellhousing, sizes, gear lever position, mountings, ecc...

Mk1 and mk2 ohv Escort has a Type 2 gearbox (integral bellhousing, weaker as type E). RS2000 has type E gearbox with aluminium bellhousing and short shift. To install type E into ohv Escort you have to relocate the gear lever hole further back and place some spacer blocks between gearbox mount and tunnel. Also the propshaft is another one.

Yes, apart from the gearbox mount on the T9 sitting again further back and requiring other spacer blocks. All the other dimensions are basically the same (a bit tighter in the tunnel though)
