    Throttle cable linkeage

Just bought Burton mk2 escort pedal box, is there a throttle cable for that kind of linkeage? Cable end with a ball, but it can't pass through the small hole of the pedal... Is there anything I can't do avoiding to cut and welding a brand new thing?

    Thanks.

Standard throttle cable should fit as it's the same throttle pedal

    Re: Throttle cable linkeage

yes it should, but how can I put the little ball at the end of the cable, inside the hole of the pedal? one side of the hole is big enough (right size for the ball), the other is way too small (wich is correct to stop the cable), so I have to cut the side of the hole on the pedal and let the cable pass, but it makes no sense to cut it, also because the side of the hole on the pedal is really thick, and by cutting it, it would become really weak...

It's out of question to separate the carburettor side linkeage from the cable, also because they should be pressed togheter and it would never return to be strong enough.

I can make it by welding something stronger on the side of the pedal (like a nut), cut the side of the nut, let the cable with the ball enter and it works.

But like I said, make no sense to modify something new, which is made for that car/engine. So I was wondering if I'm missing something.

The car was an OHV 1.3, so the linkeage was different (female/female), but I also have original pinto engine throttle cable, with "male linkeage" (the little ball) on pedal side, and female on the other (carbs).

Thanks, but unfortunately I live in Italy, and only shipping it here it would cost me like 25£, it's easier to modify del pedal.

Brk003 is the code, I don't think there is any difference between Lhd and Rhd
The pedal box fit perfectly, the problem is the throttle pedal.

Cut a cable sized slot from the top of the pedal down to the hole.

    Re: Throttle cable linkeage

thanks to everybody, like I said in the first post, I needed to know if there were a std ford cable on sale for that kind of throttle pedal, It seems clear that it's not, so I'll weld a plate to the top of the pedal with the right hole to suit the cable and the ball, and it won't give any problem.

    Thanks again.
