    1700 XFlow carburettor selectio

Hi everybody. I have a 1700 XFlow (Specialized Engines) and I would like your advices. I use it only in Track Day races.

Which carb setting will be better:

    1) Twin 40/40 Dellortos ?

    2) Single Weber 32/36 modified to 34/34 chokes and simultaneous opening throttles ?

Please let me have your kind opinions

    Cheers

The simultaneous opening throttles plates will be far the worse setup. Unsure you really need 34/34 mm chokes. I would at least open them progressive.

It will be hard to beat a good set of twin 40 mm Dellorto's (Webers) when it comes to full power, full torque and still perfect running.

All will depend what camshaft you are using. The faster the cam the more advance the twin carb setup will give. But for sure, even with standard cam, if you are allowed to use twin carbs, this is far the best setup.

For this cam I would never recommend a DGAV carb setup unless rules only ask for this carb.

But, this cam will work perfect with twin 40 Carbs.

Thanks again onyd. Carbs are not regulated. The only regulation for these classic cars - besides the cc - is the power to weight ration. in regards to cc. We have two classes: a) up to 1600 cc and b) from 1601 to 2000 cc. Of course I am in b) class.

    Cheers

PD Also I have a MK2 RS2000 flat nose. This car have twin 45/45 webers.
