    chassis repair without rotisserie

is it possible to flip the car on it's side without a rotisserie to do some metal work? I remember seeing some pics on this site of a guy having the car on its side on some old tires, is this ok?

As long as you take the engine and box out then no problems - easyer than working upside down and getting cr@p in your eye. It can be done with the heavy items in but would not be as safe and risks damage to the car and you.

ive turned complete cars up on their side years ago to weld, tyre/wheel wedged indoor top to hold it. i got the idea from the works lada team who used to do it when replacing gearbox etc. or use a few old tyres in a stack.
