Quaife 60G 6 speed sequential fit in a MK1 Escort

    Hi All

Just looking for advice from people who may have done this?
I thought I had heard someone say that even though it's supposed to be a direct swap for a type 9, that wasn't the case?

Anyone know of issues fitting in a MK1 Escort, standard tunnel on the back of a pinto?

Any help appreciated as it may sway my imminent decision
    Cheers

The 60g is a big gearbox and to fit a std tunnel is pushing your luck, If you are fitting a 60g to a road car be prepared to wear ear defenders. Ive got some pictures of mine but using a large tunnel if that is of any help.

    Hi,
I've fitted this box into MK2 with standart tunnel and cossie engine, and honestly it was difficult. you need to cut upside near gearstick as the box sit high. cut the original mounts also.
you have to install something to remote fill it, as with original tunnel you can't.

In MK2, you can keep original tunnel, but.... I'll install a wide one when I have time to be able to remove box without put the engine lower and remove xmember,...

But it's a great gearbox, the best thing I've bought for my car.

I'd like to share what I had to face with.
But don't know if MK2 tunnel are the same than MK1 ?
If MK1 have smaller ones than MK2, forget it. You'll need to cut.
    I've seen, I think it's GRP4, they do a special tunnel for G60.

I have the 60g in my mk1 and like the other comments you have had you will definatley have to make mods inside the car. I have the big tunnel and had to mod that. Again earplugs a must.
