    AX block bore sizes help!

Hi any info would be very much appreciated.

I have an ax block with an unusual bore size (to me anyway) The block has liners fitted, the bore size is 68.10mm and the O.D of the liner is 81.00 mm

so i just thought the liner had been pressed in to a std bore block, but when looking at the block i noticed there was a step at the bottom of the bore where the liner was pressed in to. So making the bore of the block orriginally 68.10mm or smaller.

i allways thought the blocks were cast as per 711m ones std bore 81mm, has any one ever come across this before?

    Many thanks Joe

What crank was in it ? Maybe it was used for a competition engine with low cc ?
