Yeah was really happy with it apart from the front suspention being a little soft and the diff hasn't got a big enough preload to lock it totally when the wheel is lifted although the diff is already rough enough when turning a sharp corner.Sounds nice mate happy days

Very odd but it is faultless now and works better than befpre as i adjusted the clutxh as part of the problem solving spree. I had a phone call today (this morning) to say she was all done and would be ready to be picked up monday afternoon :-O so we are off in an hour to see if the paint is any good. The not so good times
Whist marshalling for the wales rally gb i smashed the van into an unseen/hidden drainage ditch at around 40 mph and smashed up all the rad the thermostat housing and bent te front pannel. The damage is mainly the rad/rad mounts and the front pannel. But i think that is the end for the vN for a while i think she is going to lie in a barn whilst i build up the mrs capri and start welding up my mk1 escort shell. Sad times for the trusty steed.

Yeah i know it's doing my head in! I have had enough now so the capri and the shell will be getting some attention now. The capri is looking good but i wouldn't rush over there too quickly as i want to see what the paint holds up like over the next couple of months. If you do the prep work the job will be mint! I have seen worse paint jobs after they have been buffed back. They hadn't even buffed her back and the job was fantastic.

Yeah i have a new thermostat housing in the garage but it's just got to the point where i really can noy be arsed. She been good fun but i might have to put her to bed for a while or strip her down and put her on a spit for new floor pans a tunnel and an outer sill then get her painted. Well Fter someone with a strong irish accent knocked on my door tuesday and asked me if i would take mega mega money for that little ol' van bfther. And i said whats mega mega money he replied with name a price. I said 10k he said i'd give you that. To which my reply was no. She has since gone into secure storage in the welsh mountains in a nice new super dry barn, into hiding. Some of you may think i'm mad saying no but something didn't add up about the man and i will have the van looking in a1 condition one day. The plan is the car and the van will be in a1 condition when they hit 50 so i have 10 years to finish both of them :-P. Well guys thanks for the support and concern but i'm not as heart broken as i thought i would be as i have poured a massive amount of time and monwy into this little van and i am thinking maybe it's. time i moved on to the shell but thwm what would i go skidding in in the mean while. I have just had an email off (oddy) james on here and has very kindly offered to lend a huge hand to me to help me get under way with fixing her up so the future is looking better for the little battle scarred van but not set in stone yet. So i have put her back in the barn untill he cappa is out mu face then her future will be decided. There are a few people very intreted in buying the shell and the logbook off me believe it or not even though she's in a right mess.
Any way there isn't any more i can really say so here are the photos of my pride and joy :,-(
Also i didn't hit the posts so hard i bounced off them the boys tried to pull me off the posts for me to try and drive off to avoid footing the bill as naughty as that is the wheel fell off any way as the halfshaft snapped.
The a pillar and the door are fine its the sill (that i haven't long put on!) a d the rear quater has creased upwards it isn't too bad as the rears could be bubble arched and most of the rear quater damage removed and the rest beaten out we will see any way.dude rah im guessing 5 seconds b4 that u had a
