Regulations in Germany on modified old Fords

    Evening all,
It's looking very likely that I shall be moving to Bavaria in the summer and I really want to take my Mk1 with me.
I'm looking for information regarding what the rules are for registering and running a modified Mk1 Escort in Germany and wondered if anyone on here had any experience or info.
The car isn't wildly modified, 2ltr Pinto, 5 speed, lowered on Mk2 front struts and rear axle with Mk2 brakes front and rear.
Any help would be gratefully received.
    Cheers

    Thanks for your reply.
The car was pretty rotten when I got it and it's had localised repairs and replacement panels, is this likely to be a problem?
The car has a few non-Ford parts such as exhaust, lowering blocks, bullet mirrors, etc.
    Cheers

Repair panels arnt a probleme if the work is good (welded). Mirrors is OK. Exhaust is OK it the noise is like std. Lowering blocks and/or Front Springs is not so easy as the TÜV need paper of it.
I hope you speak german or have a Friend he speak. I live in northern Germany. That's a long way from Bayern. Sorry I can't help unfortunately. Registration is possible but not easy to obtain.

    Thanks again for your reply.
Fortunately, my wife grew up in Bayern so she at least can speak German!
That's a bit of a relief regarding the welded repairs as they were all done properly, but they are visible as welded repairs rather than blended into the surrounding metalwork. Exhaust noise is louder than standard so may have to look at replacing that.
It at least sounds like I should be able to take it with me, which is fantastic.
